Interactive games such as puzzles, matching and flash cards are a wonderful tool to promote learning. Completing or putting together puzzles, presented along with a word, can be very satisfying to a child with autism. The visual cue and word helps atypical learners to grasp the concept of reading.

Simple matching, as in the memory game, helps children identify which items are different from the rest or which ones match. This is the foundation for reading, thinking and language skills.

Using flash cards is yet another excellent way to promote language and communication, by developing a child's receptive and expressive language.
